Fairy Meadows &
Nanga Parbat
Forest trails, alpine meadows and an unforgettable encounter with the immense north face of Nanga Parbat.
A close encounter with the Killer Mountain
Rising to 8,126 metres, Nanga Parbat is the western anchor of the Himalaya and one of the world’s most imposing mountains. From Fairy Meadows its north face rises almost seven vertical kilometres above the Indus Valley, creating a scale that photographs only begin to communicate.
The experience begins with the journey to Raikot Bridge, a carefully managed four-wheel-drive approach to Tattu village and a steady forest walk to the meadows. Staying more than one night allows the mountain’s changing light, weather and silence to become the centre of the journey rather than a brief viewpoint.
Alpine base beneath Nanga Parbat
Traditional cabins, open grassland and changing views of the mountain from dawn through starlight.
Forest and glacier viewpoint
A beautiful walk through forest and pasture to a quieter camp with a stronger sense of the mountain’s scale.
A full trekking day
Continue beyond Beyal toward the north-face viewpoint and base-camp area for a demanding but exceptional day.
