Spring in the Kalash valleys
Chilam Joshi marks spring in the Kalash valleys. The gathering belongs to the community; celebrations, access and photography are guided by local hosts and the actual programme. We leave three days in the valleys so the journey is not reduced to a single performance or fixed photo stop.
Islamabad → Swat/Dir → Chitral → Kalash valleys → Islamabad. Distances and overnight stops may change with current roads, access and the event programme.

Day 1 · Arrival in Islamabad
Meet the team, review road and weather conditions, and rest.
Day 2 · Islamabad to Swat or Dir
Travel north with breaks; overnight placement follows current road conditions.
Day 3 · Continue to Chitral
Cross the Lowari corridor and settle into Chitral.
Day 4 · Bumburet Valley
Meet local hosts and observe accessible Chilam Joshi events where invited.
Day 5 · Rumbur or Bumburet
A second festival day shaped around community guidance and the actual programme.
Day 6 · Birir or Chitral
Time for a third valley visit where appropriate; return to Chitral for the night.
Day 7 · Chitral to Swat or Dir
Return south at a realistic road pace.
Day 8 · Continue to Islamabad
Buffer for road changes and a closing evening.
Day 9 · Departure
Airport transfer; onward extensions can be arranged.
